Vaughn "Eddie" Parker was born April 25, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mrs. Nadine Hagwood-Butler and late Mr. George Parker. His paternal grandmother, the late Ms. Jessie Mae Hagwood-Hall raised Vaughn. He attended Detroit Public Schools and was a member of Pentecostal Church of God. Vaughn entered in the union of marriage to Barbara (Harris) Parker on February 28, 1995. Together they raised two step-children, Cornelious and Crystal Harris. Vaughn departed his life suddenly on June 8, 2011, in Columbus, OH. Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine Hagwood-Butler and George Parker; two siblings, Adrain Denise Hagwood and Antonio Andy Hagwood; son, Vaughn Hagwood Jr. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Barbara Parker; step-children, Cornelious and Crystal Harris, Columbus, OH; two sons, Donte and Joshua; three daughters, Arendi, Lavon and Nadine of Detroit, MI; four sisters, Loletta Hagwood Jones and Tina Hagwood, Detroit, MI, Brenda Hagwood-Harrison, Winston-Salem, NC, Leetonia Hagwood, Martinsville, VA; three brothers, Lee Butler, Greensboro, NC, SGT. Charles Hagwood, Sandford, NC, Doral Butler, Basset VA; twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Life has a purpose for us all. It is up to us to find it. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Friday, June 17, 2011, 2:00 PM with visitation two hours prior.
