Velda Ann Parrish, 86, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away September 20, 2023.
Velda was born May 27, 1937 in Pomeroy, Ohio to Hershel and Carrie (Sheets) Wears.
Velda will be deeply missed by Hayward, her husband of 67 years, their daughters, Diana Christenson, and Denise Ryan (Garry); grandchildren, Tara Browning (Matt), Daniel Christenson (Nicole), and Madison Ryan; great granddaughter, Ella Browning; her sister, LaVerna Burns, brother, Gerald Wears, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Velda was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Carrie Wears and siblings Herbert Wears, Zelma Haggy, and Jay Wears.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday, September 27th from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 noon at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 27th at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Krenz officiating. Burial will be at Northlawn Memory Gardens, Westerville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
