Vera Wickham

Vera Jean Wickham, 67, of Columbus, passed away peacefully Monday, November 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by family after a very courageous battle with cancer. Jeannie, a devoted wife, beloved mother, loving sister and kind and thoughtful aunt was born November 7, 1945, in Harrisville, OH, to the late Virginia (Huffman) and James Cullen.

For the past 16 years, Jeannie worked at Big Lots Corporate Office in Columbus. A talented poet, she enjoyed writing poetry for special occasions, family and friends. Surviving are her son Charles; sisters, Linda (George) Luke, Susan Williams, Mary (Art) Ryan, Kathryn (Robert) Kidd, Shirley (Karl) Bowers, Nancy Cullen, Deborah (Michael) Beal; brothers, Robert (Joan) and Donald (Younga) Cullen; special "sister", Betty Oxley, 2 sisters-in-law, Donna Christensen and Lexie (Peter) Mahon; brother-in-law, George (Peggy) Wickham and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces, nephews and special friends from Big Lots.

In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Charles Wickham Jr. whom she married August 16, 1969 and sister, Janice Muschott.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial at Obetz Cemetery.
