Vernon E. Chaffin Sr., 79, of Columbus, went home Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Arbors in West Jefferson. He was born December 23, 1929, in Webb, WV, son of the late Wade and Mary Waller Chaffin. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his son, Vernon E. Chaffin Jr.; daughter, Patricia Evans and sister, Maggie Perry. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Vignere Beck Chaffin; sons, David Chaffin and Dana Chaffin; brothers, Wade (Carol) Chaffin, Dallas Chaffin and Calvin (Karen) Chaffin; stepchildren, Patricia (Ernie) Brown, Linda (Perry) Morrison and Dr. Thomas (Dr. Janet Colli-Beck Ph.D.) Beck Ph.D; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
