Vernon L. "Gunner" Lightle, 78, passed away November 30, 2012. He was born February 16, 1934.
Gunner was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Melvina Lightle; sisters, Bonnie Wasson, Ann Pence and Florence Campbell; brothers, Isaac and Bud and brothers-in-law, Gale Pence and Jim Campbell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elnora "Jane" Lightle; children, Kevin (Lisa), Bruce (Shelia), Dee Dee (Kevin) and Sharon; siblings, Mary Howland, Preston and Butch; sister-in-law, Jean Lightle; brother-in-law, Sam Wasson; grandchildren, Jermaine Haitchcock and Whitney, Ashley and Patricia Wightman; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathy Teal, Sarah, Trudy and Shirley; and several good friends from the Jolly Pirate Donut Shop.
Gunner was a Veteran of Vietnam and Korea. He loved fishing, football and was an avid Michigan fan.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 with funeral service immediately following at 7:00 PM with Kathy Teal officiating.
