MCCLINTIC
Vernon McClintic,82, of Grove City, passed away on December 2, 2005 at his residence with loving wife Jane and his faithful companion Little One at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles W. and Hazel (Perdew) McClintic and his brother Charles W. McClintic Jr. Vernon is survived by his loving wife Kathleen "Jane"; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dwight and Johann Lambert of Ft. Myers, FL.; nieces, Susan (Bruce) Staffin of Dallas, TX, Barbara (Ferrell) Patrick of Montgomery, AL and nephew William Lambert of Orient. Vernon retired from the railroad after 39 years of service as a brakeman-conductor. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. Vernon was very active in the American Legion from 1946 to the present. His accomplishments included: American Legion representative to the VA Hospital for 15 years; Keystone Post 1946-1949; lifetime member of the Paschall Post 164 Grove City and becoming commander of the post in 1953. In 1952 he was inducted into 40&8 and served as National Alternate Cheminot 1996-1997. He also served as Chef DeGare in 1983. Vernon started through the chairs of 12th District Council in 1963 and served as the 12th District commander 1968-1969. Vernon served as Department Sergeant of Arms for Ohio 1970-1971. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, Ohio Pistol and Gun Association, VFW Post 8198 and was a Kentucky Colonel. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, December 5, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, December 4, 2005 with an American Legion service beginning at 7:30PM followed by a 40&8 service. Rev.
