Victor "Vic" H. James, 67, passed away September 18, 2010 in West Yellowstone, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Doycheff and Martha. Vic is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Betty; proud father of Steve (Tammy), Eric (Susan), Mark (Tara) and Victor Jr. (Shelly); brother, Ron (Shirley); and devoted grandfather of Matthew (Nicole), Katie, Rachel, Jessica, Emily, Anthony, Melayna, Morgan, Adrianna, Madison, Mark II, Joshua, Timothy, Kirsti and Zachary. A life-long hunter and outdoorsman, Vic was a life member and past president of the Central Ohio Anglers & Hunters Club; life member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association; member of Fort Greenville Muzzle Loaders and Bill Moose Muzzle Loaders; past vice president of the League of Ohio Sportsmen and chairman of the Coonskin Cap Brigade. He was a long time owner of The James Restaurant (The Original Coney Island) and retired from the State of Ohio. Visitation Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 12 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 4 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages his friends to support Vic's passion for freedom and join or contribute to the NRA.
