Viola Mae Sayre

Viola Mae Sayre, age 95, passed away on February 11, 2023. She was bon in West Union, West Virginia on May 28, 1927 to the late Alfred Elliot and Tressie White. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Francis, Virginia, and Pauline; son, Raymond Norman. She is survived by her husband, Donald Sayre; children, Viola Walker, Tom Norman, Margaret Stephens, Lee Sayre, Chester Sayre, Bill Sayre, and Andy Sayre; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mae enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working in her garden, and singing church songs. She loved to collect dolls, salt and pepper shakers, and other knick-knacks. She loved her family - especially her husband of 69 years (Donald), and her daughter and granddaughters who took care of her during her final years. She lived a long simple life and will be greatly missed. After a long struggle with Alzheimer's, she has finally 'gone home'. We have been blessed to have had Mae in our lives.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:30pm at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio 43119.
