Virgie Crockett, a compassionate and sassy woman, passed away on September 21, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on February 17, 1937, in Gimlet, Kentucky. Known for her skills as a house cleaner, she took great pride in her work and dedicated to taking care of her surroundings and those of her neighbors.
Virgie found joy in many hobbies, including quilting, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She had a passion for fishing, and cherished the moments spent with her sister, where they created lasting memories on the water.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Deanna) Crockett, and her sister, Nona (David) Hurley. Virgie is preceded in death by her father, Charlie Carroll; her mother, Lizzie Carroll; her husband, John Crockett; and her siblings: sisters Nettie Bear and Dazel Rodgers, and brothers Zion, Woody, Tommy, and Lonnie Carroll.
A visitation will be held on October 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest in Grove City, Ohio. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, starting at 2:00 PM.
Virgie's legacy of compassion and love for her family will endure in the hearts of those who knew her.
