Mr. Virgil Thompson, age 84, a long time resident of Galloway, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 3, 2011. He was born to the late John & Effie Thompson. Virgil was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Northwest & Southwest Historical Society. He retired from General Motors, Delphi after 43 years of service. He enjoyed history, inventions, fishing and his grandkids. He considered himself fortunate to have so many caring friends and neighbors. Virgil touched so many lives and his memory will live within all those he has touched.
Friends may call Friday August 5, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123. Graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway Ohio Saturday August 6th at 11am. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma Thompson, by his daughter Cynthia (Tony) Dodaro; grandson Devin Dodaro and granddaughter Hana Dodaro. He is also survived by his sister Lucille Show and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to his caring & helpful niece, Crista Beardsley
