Virginia Ruth Grove

Virginia Ruth (Borden) Grove, 100, of Westerville, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 and is now home with the Lord. 

 Virginia was the 8th of nine children,(seven now deceased, Ethel, Letha, Calvin, Ray, Seth, Winnie, & Beulah), born to the late Fredrick Borden and Nellie (Budd) Borden on June 16, 1924, in Harlem, OH, where she grew up and later met the love of her life, Dorance Ray Grove. Together, they built a family grounded in love, faith, and resilience. Her devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she found immense joy in being a nurturing and guiding presence to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, David (Patty), Brenda (Doug) Ehlert, Fred (Lori) and Michael (Karen), and her cherished grandchildren, Bobbie Sue, Shelly, Michelle, Julie, Angie, Maggie, Michelle, Sheila, Steven and Kelli; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Becky and sister Pat Reed. Virginia was predeceased by Dorance and her son Robert, and grandchildren Christopher and April. 

A dedicated member of Harlem Road Methodist Church, Virginia lived her life as a testament to her faith. She was known for her selfless service, her compassionate heart, and her ability to uplift those around her with words of encouragement and acts of kindness. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort in all circumstances.

Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

A celebration of her life will be held at Harlem Road United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena, OH 43021 on Monday July 8th from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow the service at Fancher Cemetery, 11491 Fancher Road, Westerville, OH 43082, where Virginia will be laid to rest.
