December 21, 1931 — March 17, 2012

Virginia B. "Jill" Hake, 80, of Columbus, Beloved Mother and Grandmother "Gramsie" passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Village at Westerville following a brief battle with Breast Cancer.

She was born December 21, 1931 in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Ellis and Dorothy (Reynolds) Baird.

In addition to her parents, Jill was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Baird.

She retired from O.S.U. with over 28 years of dedicated service to the educational community. She was a member of the Gadabout Gals Red Hat Club, Westerville Garden Club, Story League and Elder Hostel.

Jill is survived by her three daughters, Debbie (Steve) Russell, Cathi Bentz and Pam Spencer; son, Scott (Darla) Hake; grandchildren, Devin and Trevor Russell, Michelle and Kellie Bentz, Jennifer (Drew) Roberts, Matt Spencer, Cory and Ethan Smith; sons-in-law, John Bentz and Mark Spencer.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 4:30-7:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Rd. Westerville.

Jill was the "Queen of Clubs". Her deep faith, passion for our country, gentle kindness, love of nature and travel will carry on through everyone who had the privilege to have known her.
