Virginia Tomblin

November 17, 1929 — October 20, 2024

New Albany

The world lost the best Mother ever on October 20, 2024 in New Albany, OH. Virginia (Ginny) Tomblin was born in Harts, WV on November 17, 1929. God called her home on October 20, 2024.

Ginny is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Tomblin and her nephew, Jason Tomblin. She is survived by her loving children: Beverly (Ray) Mackie, Marvin (Evelyn) Tomblin and Billie (Ben) McRill, her grandchildren, Marcia, Malinda (Roger) Barker, Megan (Nathan) Mathis, Chad (Katy) Mackie and Joshua Levitt and her great-grandchildren, Clayton, Madeline, Eli and Addie.

Ginny loved reading her Bible, the dictionary, cookbooks and pretty much anything she could pick up. As an avid learner, Ginny became a teacher after a few years of college and taught multiple grades in a one room school house. She later married, had three children and added a love for cooking and gardening to her pursuit of learning. After the children were in school full time, she decided to join the work force in retail. Her thirst for learning aided her in becoming the assistant manager of Zettler Hardware in Upper Arlington, OH for many years.

Ginny’s love for her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren is only surpassed by her love for the Lord. Early in life as a teenager, Ginny participated in Bible Club at Chapmanville High School. After coming to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior, she continued loving and giving to others. That is who Ginny was… whether with money, her time, her talents or her hugs and kisses…..along with her “I love you’s”. Her family always knew they were loved and cared for.

At her request, her service will be private for immediate family members only. Friends wishing to honor Ginny are invited to make a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or a church or charity of your choice.
