Vivian G Newman, age 98, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed on to her home in heaven on July 3, 2023 at 1:15 AM at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL. Born January 30, 1925 to Smith J. and Jettie Young.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Kathryn Young; husband, Lloyd Newman; brothers, Omer, Ivan, N. Joseph, P. David, Smith, Jr 'Sonny'; and sisters, Eula McFarland, B. Imogene 'Jean' Willis.
Vivian is survived by brothers, Donald (Judy), and Phillip; sisters, K. Lorraine 'Rene' Rathburn and Judith S. Dean; children, Rita (Rick) Carmony, Lloyd D. Newman, Mark B. Newman, Cathy M Newman, and Joseph P. (Marie) Newman; grandchildren, Michael J. Flanigan, L. David J. Newman, Lesley D. J. (Matt) Alexander, step-granddaughter, Megan(Jacob)Garrett; great grandchildren, Neal I. Newman, L. D. Michael Newman, Victoria Tomko, step-great-grandchildren, Julia, Penny and Lincoln Garrett; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
During her life Vivian taught Sunday school for 40 years, worked for the R. G. Barry Co., Howard's Office Supply Co., and enjoyed volunteering for the Riverside Sewing Guild in Columbus, Ohio, and the Punta Gorda library.
Vivian's passions included singing joyfully in the Church Choir, supporting the Missionary Families at her Church, and studying her Bible. She will be most remembered for her love and deep devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her Faith had no Limit! She is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
