W. Keith Sperry, age 57, passed peacefully in his home that he proudly decorated with everything he loved on 10/20/2022 in Columbus Ohio after his 35-year battle of continuous health complications.
Keith was born on September 29, 1965, in Ashland, Kentucky to Barbara Conley and Warren Sperry. In May of 1986, Keith and Susan Sperry married and soon after moved to Columbus Ohio in November of 1986 where not long after Keith suffered his initial foot injury at his place of work on August 16, 1987. In January of 1993, Keith and Susan welcomed their first and only child Brooke (Sperry) Kelly into the world.
Prior to Keith's health declining drastically in 2000 he dedicated his life's work to St. Joseph's Group Home where he helped provide a safe and loving home to many mentally handicapped women whose families were unable or unwilling to take care of them. He made an impact in the lives of many residents during his time at the home. It also impacted his heart forever. Keith, with a heavy heart, had to resign from working his job he loved so much after just three short years due to a major surgical procedure in which he was unable to fully recover. For the years to follow, Keith encountered many surgeries and many ups and downs with his health.
Keith is survived by his daughter Brooke Kelly, son-in-law Joshua Kelly and his first granddaughter Poppy Kelly arriving in February of 2023; brother, Scott Sperry and his children, son, Michael Sperry, wife, Danielle Sperry, daughter, Brandi Sperry, daughter, Allie Jobe, husband Rhett Jobe; sister, Judy Conley, husband David Conley and their daughter Robyn and her two sons; sister, Brenda Brown, husband Donald Brown and their daughter Jennifer Akers, husband Philip Akers and their two kids; daughter-in-law Melissa Brown; stepmom, Emma Sperry.
Keith was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Conley; father, Warren Sperry; nephew, Jason Brown.
Despite Keith's life being filled with a physical pain not many people on earth could have managed for as long as he did, Keith found so much joy in his family, his church and telling EVERYONE he encountered about Jesus and how good God was to him. He was always helping those around him whom he felt were less fortunate than him with what very well could have been the last dollar in his pocket. Even on his worst day he would give anyone the shirt off his back. Keith truly worshiped the Lord daily and smiled continuously through his pain. He touched the hearts of many and will live on in our hearts forever.
