Walter N. Collins, 88, passed away September 12, 2011. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. (Kimball) Collins; sister, Mary P. Smith and brother, Tom Collins. He is survived by his son, James Collins; daughters, April (Pat) McGarry and Patricia (Terry) Schmitz; grandchildren, Caitlin Hustrulid and Richard and Chris Brinkman. Walter graduated from Central High School, was a WWII veteran in the United States Air Force, worked as a Letter Pressman for Pfeifer Printing Company and also worked for the Columbus Clippers at Cooper Stadium for 25 years. Walter was a member of the Central Ohio Home Plate Club, the Westgate Lodge, Hospitality Unit of the Aladdin Shrine and was a 32nd degree Mason. Visitation Friday, September 16, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with Funeral Service beginning at 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to HomeReach Hospice, OhioHealth Foundation, 180 E. Broad St, FL 32, Columbus, OH 43215-9480.
