Walter Hinton, 82, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008 at O.S.U. Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1925, in Darbyville, son of the late Cyrus and Bessie Furniss Hinton. In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Frederick Hinton; sisters, Mary Lahmon and Bernice Cathel. He served in the Navy during WWII. Walter is survived by his son, Larry (Joyce) Hinton; daughter, Linda (John) Riggs; brothers, Charles (Irene) Hinton and Harley Hinton; grandson, Brian (Beth) Hinton; great grandchildren, Hope (Matthew McDonald) Warner, Holly (Heath Nott) Warner and Drake Hinton. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Muhlenburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 15120 Collections Center Drive (15120=Lbx #) Chicago, IL 60693.
