Walter Emerson Larcom, 87, of South Daytona, FL, formerly of Columbus passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007, in Volusia, FL. He was born December 20, 1919, in Lepsic, OH. Walter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served in 3C camp for 3 years and retired from Columbia Research & Development in 1984. He was also a member of Westerville, Blendon and Port Orange Senior Centers. In addition, Walter was an avid fisherman, card player and pool player. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mabel Eileen Sheridan Larcom; parents, Emerson Larcom, Evalyn Hazlett, stepfather, Emery Hawkins; sister, Betty Raus. He is survived by his daughters, Luann (Gregory) Coffey and Penny (Donald) Hill; sisters, Naoma "Poochie" (Donnie) Vanbrimmer and Anna Marie "Dooter" (Dick) Wright; grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Coffey, Jennifer (Craig) Bigham, Annie (Gregory) Zureich, Angelina, Stephanie, Daniel, Dalton and Dylan Hill; great grandchildren, Megan and Caira and many friends. Visiation will be Friday, January 19, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
