Wanda D. Downs, 86, of Columbus, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Convalarium at Indian Run. She was born July 3, 1921, in Warren, Ohio, daughter of the late Isaac Farmer Faurot and Gladys Fox Thompson. In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Downs; brothers, Eugene and William Downs and sister, Barbara Louise Miller. She was a member of Northwest Christian Church. Wanda is survived by her son, John Chegar; daughter, Jo Ann Skinner; grandchildren, Christopher and Alexis Skinner, Verity and Elizabeth Chegar; great grandchildren, Abigail, Zachary, Ella and Ethan Skinner; brother, David (Susie) Downs; sisters, Marjorie Fowler and Martha Malloy. Memorial service will be Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, with visitation one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate P.O. Box 163549 Columbus, Ohio 43216.
