William Lacey Belcher Sr., age 87, of 1448 Gibbard Ave, went home to be with the Lord on January 24th at 2:10pm at Traditions of Gahanna. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired construction foreman, former employee of the Buckeye Casting Co., and Timken Co. He was a former member of The Big Brothers Quartet of Rocky Mount, VA, former member of Gay Street Baptist Church Men's and Gospel Choir, former member of Living Faith Apostolic Church. He was a member of the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, where he served faithfully, until his health prevailed, in the Men's Choir, and the Brotherhood. Mr. Belcher is preceded in death by his parents Samuel & Ida Belcher, brothers Samuel T. Belcher Jr. & Rodney Belcher, son Robert L. Belcher. Left to cherish his memory is wife Evangelist Elizabeth (Bettie) L. Belcher, son William Stacy (Romonda Richards) Belcher of Columbus; daughters Sheilla White of Columbus, Kathy L. Belcher of Mobile, AL, grandchildren Talishia (Dekare) Jones, Tia D. Hayes, Tiffany A. Hayes, Tamarah L. Hayes, William Belcher III, Jaquez Terry, Saundrea Eaton Belcher all of Columbus; great-grandchildren Doveanna Belcher, DeVon Middlebrooks-Jones, Xavier Cannaday all of Columbus, and a host of nieces, nephews, special prayer warriors and friends. Homegoing celebration will be Tuesday January 30, 2007 at Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith 1200 Brentnell Ave Columbus, OH 43219 with District Elder Dr. Eugene Lundy, officiating. Viewing will be 11am – noon and service will begin promptly after. Entombment will take place at the Eastlawn Cemetery immediately after the service.
