William "Bill" Brown
August 4, 1947 — December 19, 2022
William "Bill" Eugene Brown of Galloway, OH passed away December 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Bill was an only child born in Marion, OH in 1947 and he soon made his way and found his home in Columbus and Galloway.
After graduating West High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in southeast Asia during the Vietnam conflict. Beyond discharge, he furthered his education at Franklin University and secured a business degree. He worked for the Ohio Dept. of Transportation and ran the Relocation Assistance Program for the entire state until his initial retirement.
Post retirement, he was employed at M-E Companies where he continued his transportation work and mentored countless rookies, many who still work in the industry now as grizzled vets and proud protégés. Once he finally hung up his clipboard, he absolutely loved spending time with friends and family, playing golf and rooting on all OSU and Cleveland sports teams – especially the hapless Browns (side note - he famously kicked a hole in a bedroom door back in 1987…).
A loving husband to wife, Jeanna Brown, who were married for 47 years and an incredible father to his three children (and Shaq, his favorite dog). Bill is survived by his wife, Jeanna; his parents, Tony and Vivian Guido; his daughter, Megan Romans (Shane); his eldest son, Ty Brown (Erin); and his youngest son, Nick Brown (Annie). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Lilly, Daisy, Trey, Scarlett, Luke, Layla, Henry, Frankie, Otis; his 2 great-grandchildren, Aaliyah and Abele; as well as several extended family members, the Callenders, Creamers, Justices, Patetes, Woodrows and Sorensons.
Family will visit and remember with friends on January 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with a memorial to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Please come to celebrate his life and legacy and to tell our favorite stories about him. In-lieu of flowers, family requests that you please donate to the Michael J.
