William Michael Blankenship entered this life on April 5, 1991 and departed August 29, 2022.
Afflicted with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, William inspired us with the grace in which he handled his disability. Always optimistic, with deep empathy for others, William was our hero.
He was also the ringmaster of our family, with his never-ending ideas of new foods to try, obscure movies to watch and new music that we just had to listen to. We will never be the same in his absence.
William graduated from Dublin Scioto High School and Ohio State University with a B.A. in Japanese language. He traveled to Japan to experience the culture and test his language skills.
William is survived by his loving parents, Jeff and Cherry Blankenship, his brother Luke, with whom he shared an impenetrable bond, special aunt Laura Heightland, who only had to learn that William wanted or needed something to immediately head out to begin an exhaustive search until the item was located and procured, grandmother Linda Emmons and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
William was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, WM and Sadie Blankenship, maternal grandfather James Emmons, cousin Tanner Heightland and a host of relatives and friends.
Will, you were the light of our lives, you will be sorely missed, never forgotten.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Services, NW Chapel, located at 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065 with a Memorial Service immediately following at 2:00pm.
