William (Bill) Arthur Boyer, 85, passed away Monday November 27, 2023 peacefully at home after an extended battle with Frontotemporal Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Dayton, Ohio on November 1, 1938, Bill was the son of Enid (Fawley) and George Boyer. He graduated from Northridge High School, attended Ohio State University and had a long career as a business owner of his own successful surveying company, while also working at DP&L, and later WPAFB for 15+ years each.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Maggard, and a son, Timothy Boyer.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cynthia Boyer, and his children Tamara Zavitz, Thomas (Susan) Boyer, and Ashley (Daniel) Simon; and brother Lynn (Joyce) Boyer. He also had 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grand-children.
Bill was fond of travel, but he also appreciated a good night in spending quality time with his family and friends, especially if it included a bonfire and pie-iron pizzas. He absolutely delighted in watching his grandchildren grow and play. He spent many years working outdoors and was fond of wildlife. Many nights were spent going on walks in the park with his wife and any number of dogs over the years. Bill was known to be an active participant in many sports throughout his life. He had an appreciation for history and knew a little bit and a whole lot about absolutely everything.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for friends and family in Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, The Parkinson's Foundation, or Ohio Health Hospice of Columbus.
