William C Cunningham, 94, Westerville, passed away January 25, 2012. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cunningham. Survivors include his step-daughter, Katherena Howell; granddaughter, Patricia (Kenneth) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Laura Darling, Michael (Shari) Wilson; great-great-grandchildren; Ashley, Rachel and Jessica Darling and Justin and Julia Wilson. Bill retired after 28 years from Kroger Maintenance Department. He served in WWII in the US Navy and Merchant Marines. He was on the USS Horace Binney and was torpedoed by the Germans on the day after the war was over. Bill enjoyed living in the Meadowood Condominiums. Living there among his friends he found friendships, happiness and many good times. He will be immensely missed by his family and friends. We are thankful that he left us all with great memories. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001.
