William H. Catling

William H. Catling, 82, passed away Aug. 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by parents, Hazel E. Lewis and David H.(Margaret) Catling; sister, Maxine E. Lewis; wife, Josephine Catling. Bill is survived by children, Roslind "Melissa" (Everall) Plummer, William H. Catling, II, and Nichole Catling; God given children, Kyle D. Catling, Sr., Anthony Travers, and Angela Morris; grandchildren, Epiphany Catling, Marissa Park Smith, Shanice Plummer, E. Oshane Plummer, Kierra Plummer, and Etanya Plummer; brother, David (Cathy) Catling; sisters, Doris Whitfield, Rose Catling, Sharon Alexander, and Michelle "Missy" Gordon; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loves unconditionally.

An active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He sang in the male chorus and worked security at the church. Bill coached Little League football and basketball, enjoyed fishing, anything related to cars and classic cars, but mostly he loved people. He was a neighborhood father and was lovingly called "Mr. C."

Bill served our country in the United States Army between 1963 and 1965. He worked in real estate; retired from S.E.I.U, Local 47. Bill was heavily involved in service to his community, including Meals on Wheels and voter registration.

Visitation Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1775 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43223. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
