William E. Francis, 79, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Beckley, WV on January 13, 1932, to P.W. and Marie (Spurlock) Francis and is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Iris Fannin and Kay Francis. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Lou (Cavendish) Francis; daughters, Sherey (David) Zerbian and Billie (Jack) Mangus; sons, Wayne A. and Mark A. Francis; sister, Janet (Peter) Arcona; grandchildren, Sara (Adam) Ciancanelli, Rachel Anne Zerbian, Amy L. Mangus, Angie (Joe) Climer, Christina (Doug) Blanton, Jack W. Mangus III; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Bill retired from the Ohio Company where he had worked for 20 years. Bill and Mary Lou are members of the Loyal Order of Moose and Golden Moose, Worthington Lodge No 1427 and the "Still Going Strong Travel Club". Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road (161), Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Friday, January 28, 2011, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
