William T. Erdy "Pap" died unexpectedly at his home in Grove City, Ohio on Friday, October 20, 2023. He was born on November 14, 1934 to the late Joseph and Teresa Erdy in Wooster, Ohio. William served in the Air National Guard at Lockbourne, Ohio Rickenbacker Air Force Base. He also traveled with the USO while in Germany. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Erdy and Mary (Richard) Griffin; brothers, Joseph (Esther), of West Mansfield, Fred (Joan), of Grove City, J. Walter, of Sunbury; grandson, Lance Corporal Nicholas B. Erdy, of Owensville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marilyn; sister, Betty Reinhard, of Galloway; children, William Jr. (Jane) Erdy, Rita Erdy-Elleman (John) Gail Erdy, and Lisa Erdy-Fredenburg (Cole); step children, Roger Blake (Becky) Areminda Blake, Scott and Michael Blake, Michele Fukuda (Jeff), as well as his dog Jake; also grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He always shared his knowledge and wisdom with his family and friends as well as his neighbors Randy and Kevin Rowe and Jay Noble. William was a well know fiddle player with the Mainline Express Band which was led by Scott Edry. His other hobbies included fishing, sewing, popping popcorn for his great grandchildren. Pap also made the best homemade ice cream. Williams kindness and patience left a positive impact on everyone around him and will never be forgotten. Mass will be held at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 on Friday, October 27, 2023. The music at the funeral mass will be played by Chloe Erdy-Ellemen, granddaughter of William.
