William Flaherty, 74, of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, June 20, 2008 at his home. He was born December 31, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Edmund and Margaret (Diggens) Flaherty. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brother, Ed Flaherty; sisters, Mary Jefferie, Joann Cook and Eileen Parker. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hanson Flaherty; son, William Flaherty; daughters, Laura (David) Buoni, Kathy (Michael) Michael, Debra Hawthorne, Helen (Brad) Wiegand, Diane Ray, Jean (Tom) McDonald and Sandy Senn; brothers, James and Michael Flaherty; sister, Peggy Call; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and three great great grandchilren. William was greatly loved by all grand, great and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
