Hatfield, William Alfred (Bill), age 73, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006. Bill was born March 24, 1932 in Warren Cliff, West Virginia. Bill was retired from Yellow Freight. Played and sang Country Music all his life. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Member of V.F.W. Post #3424, American Legion, Post #144, Amvets 68, North Linden Eagles Aeries 2252. He was preceded in death by parents Ida Mae and Hiawatha Evans; daughter, Billy Sue Hatfield; grandchildren, Quishawn, Rick and Bobbie; grandmother, Debbie Hatfield, Aunts Lorie Varney and Ruby Hudson. He is survived by wife of 45 years, Lillian Mae (Dawson) Hatfield; children, Mary Ann (Ovid) Campbell, LaDonna Hatfield, and Ida Marie Hatfield all of Columbus. Step-Children Mary Ann (Steve) Apisa of Groveport, James (Becky) Dawson of Ashville, Ruthie Mae (Jerry) Wilson of Lancaster; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren , eight step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren; cousins, Hobert Hatfield of Worthington, Craig Hatfield of Waverly, Jack and Mark Hatfield of Columbus. Sister-in-law, Millie (George) Arkium of Coshocton. Many good friends, Mike Horn, Tom Horn, Leonard Worley and The Vanishing Breed Band, Darwin Conley and The Regulators and many, many more country music friends and a lot of people who loved to hear him sing. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00p.m., Monday, January 30, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus Ohio 43231.
