William Harold Herbert, 78, of Grove City, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late Harold and Catherine L. (Hennick) Herbert in Columbus, OH., Bill is preceded in death also by a sister, Elsie Morrison Damron. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Orpha (Bailey) ; daughter, Cathy; son, William (Annamarie); twin brother, Charles (Yvonne); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, friends, and Alex. Bill was a member of the 37th Division of Ohio National Guard, 30 year employee of Richer/Bowman Dairy Companies and retired as owner/operator of Herbert's Market. He was a graduate of Central High School, fifty year member of Masonic Lodge #30, member of Scottish Rite Aladdin Shrine, former member of Franklinton Kiwanis, Franklinton Board of Trade and Board of Directors Gladden Community House. At Bill's request, there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Memorial contributions, in Bill's name, may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Columbus, OH 43026, or to the donors choice.
