William Francis Higgins, known as Bill, passed away on August 14, 2024 in honor and remembrance of his life, dedicated service, and profound love for his family. Born on January 6, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, Bill's journey was marked by moments of joy, dedication, and service.
Bill proudly served in the US Army, embodying a sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life. Outside of his military service, he owned his own business, "HIS Reality", showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and drive for success.
His personality was characterized by his unwavering love and dedication to his family. As a grandfather, Bill was truly remarkable, always willing to go above and beyond for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His generous nature extended beyond family boundaries, as he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Bill's love for his wife shone brightly, illuminating the deep connection they shared.
In his leisure time, Bill found joy in simple pleasures. Whether it was playing cards, collecting treasures, visiting the casino, or savoring meals at Olive Garden, he embraced each moment with enthusiasm and contentment.
Amongst his many accomplishments, Bill cherished nothing more than the title of being a grandfather. This role brought him immense pride and happiness, shaping the legacy he leaves behind.
He attended St. Aloysius grade school and Aquinas School.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Francis Higgins, II, mother, Justine, Wife, Roma Higgins, son, Thomas Higgins, daughter-in-law, Donna Higgins, sister, Rose Slaughter. Surviving family includes, grandchildren, Paige Higgins, Taylor Higgins, and Selena (Tanner) Simms, great grandchildren, Haleigh Higgins and Gabriel Simms, sisters Margret Penn an Mary Ann Helsing, and brother Richard (Susan) Higgins.
William Francis Higgins touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and love. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy of love and compassion lives on.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday August 26th from 5 to 7 pm at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, 43123. The Funeral Mass will be held on August 27th at 10 am at the Saint Cecilia Church, 434 Norton Rd., Columbus Ohio 43228.
