MSgt (ret) William P. Hoy (Bill) born on 19 May 1936, passed away on 28 August 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. He was married to the late Susan M Hoy. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Hughes and Joyce Haskins, daughter Patricia Hoy, and oldest grandson Jonathan Dannemann. Bill is survived by his siblings Gail Wainuskis, Karen Lemons (Carl), George Hoy, Nancy Braun and Barbara Dennis. Additionally, he is survived by his children Penny Dannemann (Steve), Wendy Pam ( Mike) Orzell, William Hoy III (Brenda), June Hoy, and David Hoy (Beth) Charlie (Lisa) Brown. He is survived by his grandchildren; Jason Minor, Ashleigh Dannemann, Jordan Hoy, Nathan Hoy and Alex Hoy, Zachary Brown and Hannah Brown, Margiee Young, and Kassie Mitchell. Bill also has 13 great grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart and many nieces and nephews.
In life, Bill and Susan married on 24, May1958, and spent 61 wonderful years together. Bill entered into the United States Air Force on 5, October, 1955, serving “25 years, 26 days and 8 hours” honorable years before retiring 31, July, 1980. Upon retirement, Bill began his life’s work of positively impacting thousands of young men and women as a teacher, mentor and friend while serving his country as a JrROTC instructor for 27 years.
Bill loved his family with all his heart and never failed to show his love for them. Bill brought an enthusiastic personality that lit up any room he was in and made people gravitate to him. He was passionate about the Air Force, his family/friends, his cadets and his community. Bill’s passing will leave a hole in his community that will continue for many generations.

Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, where funeral services will then be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Galloway Cemetery.
