William James Ferguson, 85, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 surrounded by family. Born in Columbus, OH to the late Ernest & Lela (Johnson) Ferguson, he lived in Grove City, OH all of his life.
Bill dedicated his life to community service and served as a Founding member and leader of the Grove City JayCee's which led him to participate in committees for Miss Ohio and Miss America Pageants, Buckeye Boys Ranch, Teens Unlimited. He served his country in the US Army, Company A-7th Medium Tank Battalion(3D Armored Division) and was deployed to Korea where he was placed in the front lines of the 39th parallel.
Bill enjoyed working at Swift Packing Company, Kroger, and Southwest Public Libraries. In October 2014, he retired from Grove City Auto Auction.

Survived by his wife of 37 years, Carole Ferguson; son, William L. (Robin) Ferguson; step-daughter, Sherri (Scott Young)Williams; Grandchildren [Great-Grandchildren] Hope (Brian) Page [Christian, Bryce, Chloe], Hillary (Brey) Avery [Leila & Lydia], Scott (Chelsey) Ferguson, Derrick (Jackie) Williams [Colton & Jax], and Jeremy (Chelsea) Williams [Callie]; Brothers, Ernest (Shirley) Ferguson, Bob (Linda) Ferguson and brothers in law John (Machiko) Schafer and Steve ( Jill) Schafer, ; plus several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 1:00 until 3:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00PM. Donations may be made in Bill's name to the Disabled American Veterans, 420 N. James Rd., Columbus, OH 43219.
