William Joseph Payne, age 73 was born in Mt.Vernon, Ohio, on December 22, 1951, to Bill and Mildred (Butt) Payne, and died on January 20, 2025.

The doctors sent him home and offered little hope he would improve. His father, Bill, went to work teaching his son to walk and talk. William was very independent and was a volunteer fireman for 15 years. He also rode horse and spent many hours riding his bicycle for miles daily.

One of his proudest accomplishments was donating blood to the Red Cross. After 30+ years of donations, he gave 15 gallons of blood.

William had a difficult life with severe limitations, but he always had a smile on his face and was good-natured.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Tighe, sister Merilee (Larry)  Myers and Uncle, Dickie Butt.

He has four nieces and many great nieces and nephews. He is survived by many friends who loved and supported him, including Lee Lindsey, the Daniels family, Sarnovsky famiy and New family.
