William Kent McCormick, 55, of Columbus,OH, and formerly of Rosewell, Ga., passed away on Friday, January,2, 2009, after a 3 year courageous battle with cancer.
Born to Dr. William N. and Marianna (Martin) McCormick in Mansfield on May 10, 1953, Bill is preceded in death by his father and his mother's second husband, John F. Miefert.
Survivors include his mother, Marianna McCormick Miefert; sister, Ann (Mark) Gordon of Westerville; nephew, M. Alan (Sara) Gordon and daughter, Anna Grace, of Kansas City; niece, Julie (Matthew) Borth of Delaware; many cousins and friends.
Bill was a graduate of Malabar High School and received his MBA degree from the University of Cincinnati. He was a sales representative for Stortz medical instruments. His hobby was building fast computers for international competition.
Visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road, Mansfield, OH from 1-2:30PM on Saturday, January 10, 2009, with the Funeral Service at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215. Private interment at Rivercliff Cemetery, Mount Gilead, OH.
