William W. McClure, 82, passed away April 1, surrounded by family and friends he loved so much. Bill was born on March 28, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John and Rita McClure.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie and son, William.
In high school, Bill earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, a rank only attained by one percent of Boy Scouts in 1956. He developed a lifelong passion for public speaking as a member of his college debate team and later Toastmasters. After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1964, Bill enjoyed a successful career spanning 35 years in sales and service of financial products.
At work, he met his wife of 37 years, Bonnie. As a team, they rose to the challenges of daily life as a blended family. An avid traveler, Bill enjoyed many adventures over the years with Bonnie at his side. He never passed up the opportunity to play a competitive game of tennis or see the Cincinnati Reds. Bill was a longtime member of Church of the Good Shepherd and most recently, Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his brother John (Barbara) McClure, son Andrew (Stacie) McClure, stepchildren Wesley and Beth Loy, grandchildren David (Hannah) and Stephanie McClure.
Private services were held at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church.
