William "Bill" Moore, 75, of Columbus, passed away October 16, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 4, 1933, in Wapakoneta, son of the late Carter and Sylvia Russell Moore. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Waugh and Bernadine White. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a member of Amvets Post #89, enjoyed woodworking and was also a vocalist with many friends in the music industry. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dowling Moore; sons, Bill (Debbie) Moore Jr., Carter (Joanna) Moore and Weston (Colleen) Moore; daughters, Mary (David) Byrley and Diana Moore; stepdaughters, Janet (Jimmy) Baker and Jayne Oswalt; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be Monday, October 20, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery.
