Bill was a loving husband, father, son and brother; and a dear friend to many. Bill dedicated his life to God and spent the past 25 years in youth ministry, teaching teens and kids all about the love of Christ. He served in churches across Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. He also spent the last 10 years working at the MidOhio Foodbank ensuring that thousands of people had the necessary food that they needed to survive. He went on mission trips to foreign countries, wrote published youth ministry lesson plans and articles for books and magazines. He also participated and spoke at youth ministry conferences, and spoke at area churches across the state to discuss food insecurity and how best to serve the least of these. He was a talented writer, preacher and theologian. Bill was an avid soccer player and basketball fan, watching his kids play and his beloved Flyers play were some of his favorite pastimes. He had a passion for astrophotography and took some of the most beautiful photos of the majesty of God's night sky. He was a jokester and loved nothing better than a bad pun, a funny dad joke and/or harassing his friends on talk like a pirate day. Bill was a graduate of Bellbrook High School and Cincinnati Christian University and a long time member of Lighthouse Community Christian Church in Ashville, Ohio.
Bill will be greatly missed by his wife and five young children. They weren't ready to see him go and will desperately miss him, but are so glad that he is no longer suffering. They especially wanted to give their deepest thanks to all of the nurses and doctors at the OSU Medical Wexner Center's SICU for all of the dedicated care and support they gave Bill and them over the last seven weeks; especially to his nurse Chris who managed to allow his kids the chance to say goodbye to their dad in person on his last good day. They also wanted to thank all of their friends and family who have helped to support them over the last few months.
