William E. Pethtel Jr., 67, passed away after a lengthy illness, Monday, July 16, 2007, at Mt. Carmel East, surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hazel (Evans) Pethtel; daughters, Theresa (Jim) Wellman, Donna (Jeff) Kellett, Sandy (Jeff) Smithberger; grandchildren; William Evans, Robert Wellman, Ashley and Nick Smithberger, Brittany and Jackie Kellett; sister, Charlene Butler; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends. Bill attended the Cornerstone Church of God in Gahanna and was a Navy veteran. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2007, 4-8PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007, 11:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Fancher Cemetery.
