William "Gus" Charles Puzines Sr (1956-2023)
William Charles Puzines Sr, 66, Pataskala, Ohio died of natural causes on October 6th, 2023.
Gus was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1956 to Jack and Florence Puzines and grew up in Sunbury, Ohio. The oldest of 5 siblings, Mike, Terri, Becky, and Shawn, Gus was the orneriest leader out there. Together they stomped the grounds of Sunbury and Columbus alike. Gus was a hard worker starting at a young age moving houses with his stepdad. He eventually retired from Matlack Teamsters local 413 where he built some lifetime friendships. He was a father of 4 from his first marriage with Stephanie Burright, and he instilled this very idea of hard work into each of them, Tracy, Bill, Curt, and Nicole. Gus was incredibly proud of all of them, as well as all of his grandchildren, Tali Matias, Gabriel Matias, Nalani Matias, Sylas Thompson, Romeo Matias, Skylar Thompson, Kinsleigh Puzines, and Elena Raymond. Gus was a loving father and grandfather and would do anything for his family.
Over the years, Gus enjoyed trapshooting, fishing, and watching the OSU Buckeyes. If you caught one of his "cheerios," you also know that he had a great sense of humor. Gus was never shy to crack a joke and was a great storyteller.
Gus was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Becky Renfro, and is survived by long-time partner, Rita Raymond, the remaining 3 siblings, his children, and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on October 29th 2023 at Woodside Green Park, 213 Camrose Ct. Gahanna, Ohio 43230 at noon. The celebration will consist of a picnic and fishing and all friends and family are welcome.
