On Sunday, October 3rd 2021, William Edward Setty, loving Father of four children, passed away at the age of 72, peacefully in his Grove City Ohio home.
Bill was born on March 15, 1949 in Springfield Ohio to Pearl "Butch" and Mary Setty. He grew up in Springfield Ohio and attended St. Teresa School and Catholic Central High School. Bill finished Freshman year in college, then enlisted in the US Army. He was a highly decorated Sergeant in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to Xavier University where he got a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration. He married Susan P Ret on May 24, 1975 in Cincinnati Ohio. Bill and Susan had four children, John, Sharon, Diane and Michael. He had a long successful career with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, alongside his best friend Hal Silverman. Bill loved hands on work fixing up his home, building wood projects, and working outside. He enjoyed playing poker and bridge, bowling, coaching baseball, and being a Father and Grandfather. Bill was a provider and a protector, always placing others needs before his own. He was as genuine as a person can be. Bill's opinion was highly regarded and, though he wasn't one to throw out compliments, when he did it was sincere and heartfelt. A modest and private man, Bill's children are enjoying hearing stories of his adventures.
Bill loved his Grandchildren and his cat, who all lit up his life with smiles and laughter. Bill is survived by his children, John (Tiffany), Sharon (Daniel), Diane (Nick), Michael (Dennis), their mother Susan, his grandchildren Halie, Penelope, Emberly, Theodore and Genevieve, his brothers Tom (Terry), Michael (Diane), Mark, Paul (Jeanette), and his sisters Joan (Ken) and Mary Ann (Allen), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
