William "Bill" Staley, 78, of Columbus, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born to Elmer and Emma (Burgess) Staley in Chauncy, OH. and is preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Joe, Mose, Peanut, Gene, Russ and Jim, who was killed in WWII. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley (Standall) Staley; sons, Louis (Margaret) Staley and their 7 children, David (Susan) Staley and their 1 child, James (Cynthia) Staley, and their 7 children; 28 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Bill worked for Columbus Steel Supply for 31 years and Ohio Steel Industries for 7 years. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Bill's family would like to thank HomeReach Hospice for their wonderful care.
