Woodrow Cris Zimmer II, age 77, passed away on August 10, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.
Cris was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 29, 1945. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Equipment Records and Parts Specialist from 1965-1967 and was stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia. He was a member of the American Legion Post 532.
Cris found a lot of joy and meaning in his work and was always busy with a project for his business or at home. For almost 30 years Cris owned and operated Hardware Resources, Inc. supplying doors and related hardware for commercial construction. When he wasn't busy with a project Cris enjoyed time on the lake with his family and riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed many friendships with fellow members of the American Legion.
Cris is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Cris and Claire (Redman) Zimmer.
Surviving family includes his loving wife Robin (Popenoe) Zimmer; children, Jill (Jerry) Hinton, Marc (Teri) Zimmer, Chad (Brandy) Zimmer, and Eric (Katie) Zimmer; first wife and mother of his children Reenie Zimmer; 5 grandchildren; 3 siblings; and many extended family members.
A memorial service for Cris will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00am at The Grove Church, 4371 Grove City Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
