Zach Szatkowski

Zachary Scott Szatkowski, 38, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on August 1, 2023.
Zach was born on November, 30, 1984, to Ron and Donna Szatkowski, in Columbus, Ohio.
Zach is a 2003 graduate from Westland High School. Zach was preceded in death by his paternal Grandmother, Phylis (Szatkowski), maternal Grandfather, Bill (Callahan), Mother, Donna (Szatkowski) and Uncle, Randy (Szatkowski).

Zach is survived by paternal Grandfather, David (Szatkowski), maternal Grandmother, Mae (Callahan), Father, Ron (Szatkowski), brothers Joshua Szatkowski (Jenny), and Michael O'Day (Mandi), nieces Cayla (O'Day) and Olive (Szatkowski), nephew Cody (O'Day), Aunt Bonnie Coughlin (Stephen), his partner, Jen Dieckmann, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In his spare time, Zach loved to wrench on cars along watching the SRC Racing Channel. The sound of a revving engine was always close by.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He could always be found cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Guardians.

He was also a huge dog lover who found joy being surrounded by them. He always had a four-legged companion near him.

Zach was a Night Shift Custody Supervisor at Johnson County Community Correctional Facility and a member of First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to your local animal humane society, an organization that Zach held close to his heart.


Family and friends may call at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Friday, August 11 from 12:00pm-1:00pm for calling hours, with a service to follow starting at 1:00pm. After the service takes place, a burial will happen at Sunset Cemetery.
