Richard Elliott Adler, Sr. (Dick), 84, went home to Jesus on Monday evening, October 24, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio. Dick was born on June 21, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio, son of Victor and Violet Adler.

He is survived by wife Bella Adler, son Rick Adler (Marcie), daughter Shari Wheeler (David), grandchildren, Jessica Whitmore (Jason), Nick Adler, Rosalyn Carey (Nate), McKenna Wheeler, Jacob McDowell, Nathan McDowell. Great-Grandchildren Harper, Holly and Hazel Whitmore, sister Dianne Weich (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.

Dick was a boater (and leaves behind the renowned Bertram Moppie named “Darcie”, a fisherman and a “fisher of men”. He graduated from Wittenberg College. He served in the Korean War as a Army medic and later was a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Wyeth-Ayerst.
Dick’s wishes were a memorial at Vineyard Columbus.

The service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Vineyard Columbus – 6000 Cooper Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081. He will be laid to rest at Kingwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Vineyard Columbus or the American Heart Association.
